vitamin-d3

MAIN PHYSICAL BENEFITS

  • Increase total testosterone levels
  • Increase free testosterone levels

COGNITIVE BENEFITS

  • Improved happiness and subjective wellbeing

Vitamin D3 as Cholecalciferol

Dosage: 82.5 mcg

Known as the sunshine nutrient, vitamin D is a type of secosteroid hormone. Through a complex series of chemical conversions, UV light is converted in vitamin D by your own body.

In terms of testosterone, vitamin D acts as a precursor, and various studies have found a strong association between the two. Impressive increases have been shown for both total and free testosterone.

The most potent version of vitamin D, is best for health and performance. It’s estimated that the body requires 3000–5000 IU of vitamin D per day to meet the needs of every tissue and cell in the body, and studies have indicated that as many as 42% of American are deficient in the sunshine nutrient.

On the cognitive side the beneficial effects of Vitamin D3 have been widely publicized in relation to Seasonal Affective Disorder, a malaise affecting populations in countries with limited winter sun.

There have been ongoing disputes for years on effective dosage levels, recent studies have shown the RDA has been miscalculated and is far too low. Higher doses of (6,000-8,000 IU) have been linked to better athletic performance, testosterone enhancement and better muscle recovery - we have selected the lower but highly effective dose of 3300IUs which has been safely used in long term academic studies on Vitamin D3.

Zinc as Zinc Citrate

Dosage: 20 mg

The humble mineral zinc is found in foods such as beef and shellfish. It’s an essential nutrient meaning your body can’t make its own. You have to get it from your diet.

However, with 2 billion people worldwide suffering from zinc deficiency, chances are you don’t get enough of it. From a testosterone perspective, it has been shown to increase levels of both testosterone and DHT (a type of strong androgen hormone like testosterone).

It has also been shown to maintain testosterone levels in training athletes.

  • Stimulates production of testosterone
  • Reduces estrogen
  • Reduces prolactin levels

COGNITIVE BENEFITS

  • Improved mood
  • Reduced stress

Vitamin B6 as Pyridoxine HCL

Dosage: 10mg

Vitamin B6 helps promote testosterone levels in two ways. Firstly it stimulates the production of the androgens which produce testosterone. Secondly, it works on the C2 pathway in the brain to regulate the production of estrogen.

An additional physical benefit of vitamin B6 is that it inhibits prolactin. As mentioned above in the mucuna pruriens section, prolactin reduces testosterone production, so reducing prolactin production has a beneficial effect on testosterone levels.

In relation to cognition, a relatively recent (2017) long term study into the effects of vitamin B6 on healthy adults over the age of 60 was conducted on 155 participants. It found that those with lower than expected levels of vitamin B6 also had a higher than expected rate of cognitive decline. A Canadian study found that there was evidence the amino acid Homocysteine, which relies on B6 for production, helps prevent dementia and cognitive decline.

It assists in the production and regulation of the neurotransmitters which our bodies use to control stress.

Boron as Amino Acid Chelate

Dosage: 10 mg

Significant research shows boron is able to enhance free testosterone and even ramp up markers of physical performance. And in addition to that research has shown that boron has positive effects on short and long term memory, attention, and brain function.

In a study of 8 healthy men, acute boron supplementation (11.6 mg) wasn’t found to significantly increase total testosterone levels, but even in a short 6-hour window was seen to increase the trend of free testosterone by a surprisingly high 14% - a lot for less than half a day.

Not only that, but boron also decreased SHBG levels by nearly 10%. As the protein responsible for binding to testosterone and making it unusable, that’s an important and interesting finding.

In this study, 19 male bodybuilders were given a low dose of 2.5 mg of boron for just less than 2 months. The guys, who were obviously active but new to bodybuilding, had their plasma testosterone measured before and after the nutritional intervention, as well as markers of muscle mass and strength.

The results were conclusive - even with a dose lower than the recommended 10 mg for enhanced performance, boron elevated androgen levels by over 60% as well as 1RM squat and bench press strength.

COGNITIVE BENEFITS

  • Enhances mood and wellbeing
  • Improves thinking, focus, and memory
  • Aids in the repair of neurons and promotes nerve growth

Phosphatidylserine (PS)

Dosage: 100mg

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a phospholipid that is found in every cell in your body but is most concentrated in your brain cell membranes, where it aids in neuron repair, promotes cell fluidity, and optimizes neurotransmitters like acetylcholine.

Glucose is your brain's primary fuel, and PS helps to improve its efficiency and uptake in the brain - resulting in more mental energy, improved clarity, and increased focus.

PS also helps to boost nerve growth factors that are responsible for brain cell growth and rebuilding. PS helps your immune cells quickly dispose of dead or toxic neurons, protecting the surrounding brain cells from damage.

While PS is best known for its nootropic benefits - including helping with cognition and mood - it's also been studied for its physical benefits.

PS works to block the stress hormone cortisol, which in turn has a positive impact on your testosterone production. This is why athletes and fitness enthusiasts around the world supplement with PS to boost their exercise performance and resistance to stress.

Vitamin K2

Dosage: 45 mcg

Also known as menaquinone in studies, vitamin K2 is a well known men's health enhancer.

Found in egg yolks, red meat, and butter - all great test-boosting foods but also high in calories so they might not help you with your fitness and weight loss goals.

Studies show that vitamins D and K2 have synergistic effects on bone health and testosterone. That's why they are both in Centrapeak.

In its long list of benefits, vitamin K2 will also support your cognitive health - it's shown to stave off dementia and cognitive decline, along with supporting a healthy mood.

Indole-3-Carbinol

Dosage: 200 mg

I3C is formed during the digestion of a chemical called glucobrassicin. As the name suggests, I3C is found in brassica and cruciferous vegetables - broccoli, cabbage, collard greens and kale.

As a subject of hundreds of biomedical research projects, I3C is fast becoming the most valid anticarcinogenic, atherogenic antioxidant-rich nutrient around. But it's included in Centrapeak for its ability to inhibit aromatization - in other words, it reduces estrogen.

Reduce estrogen and you promote testosterone. According to one clinical trial published in the prestigious Journal of Nutrition.

“I3C causes growth arrest and increased apoptosis and ameliorates the effects of estrogen”.
In a similarly beneficial study, 7 men were given 6-7 mg of i3C per kilogram of body weight. Supplementing it for only 1 week, metabolism of estrogen significantly increased.

Being far more bioavailable and effective as I3C than DIM, this is an ingredient with many additional health benefits.

Ashwagandha Standardized to 1.5% Withanolides

Dosage: 200 mg

Ashwagandha is packed full of nutrient goodness. It’s a rich source of alkaloids, fatty acids, and steroidal lactones - all shown to have aphrodisiac and life-prolonging properties.

Studies have shown that when stressed adults were given a extract of ashwagandha root, their levels of the primary stress hormone cortisol retreated by nearly 30% - in as little as 60 days.

Ashwagandha isn't just included in Centrapeak for its stress-relieving characteristics though. For hundreds of years, Ashwagandha has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine as a libido enhancer. Modern research methodology has confirmed that it increases testosterone and fertility.

As an anabolic-androgen, testosterone is also responsible for increasing your muscle mass, strength, and power. In a study from the International Society of Sports Nutrition, 57 active men who regularly lifted weights were given ashwagandha root twice daily for 8 weeks while taking part in a standardized strength training program.

Muscle mass significantly increased and testosterone levels skyrocketed.

Mucuna Pruriens Standardized to 40% Levadopa

Dosage: 75 mg

Mucuna Pruriens, also known as velvet bean, is a leguminous plant used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.

It is an extremely high yielding source of levodopa (L-DOPA), which the body converts through a process known as decarboxylation. L-DOPA intake results in a highly significant decrease of plasma prolactin levels.

Which is a good thing, as increased prolactin through the pituitary releasing hormone (produced in the pituitary gland) results in a reduction in testosterone. To double down on the benefits, Mucuna pruriens encourages an increase in neurotransmitters which help inhibit the pituitary gland from releasing prolactin by stimulating the release of prolactin inhibiting factor.

Clinical studies have demonstrated that mucuna pruriens is twice as effective at increasing L-DOPA in the body than taking synthesized L-DOPA.

The benefits of mucuna pruriens supplementation are not confined only to the physical. Mucuna pruriens been shown to increase mental wellbeing. It has also been found to increase other neurotransmitters that affect mood.

Pine Bark Extract Standardized to 95% Proanthocyanidins

Dosage: 75 mg

Pine Bark Extract (Pinus Pinaster) is a natural antioxidant complex that enhances vitality and overall health.

The proanthocyanidins in pine bark extract trigger the release of nitric oxide (NO), which enables improved bloodflow around the body and brain.

Improved bloodflow is known to help improve sexual function. Nitric oxide enahncing supplement ingredients are also often found in pre-workouts as improved bloodflow also helps us get the most out of our bodies during exercise.

Proanthocyanidin compounds have demonstrated the potential in research to improve mental energy and focus, as well as positively affecting memory and brain health long term.

Pine bark extract is a rich source of vitamin C and potent source of antioxidants. For all these reasons pine bark extract is a perfect ingredient for Centrapeak, helping both body and mind.

L-Tyrosine

Dosage: 150 mg

L-Tyrosine is a dietary molecule and master precursor to L-DOPA, which gets converted to dopamine in your brain.

Chronic stress depletes dopamine stores. The consequence of this is low mood, poor focus, irritability and procrastination.

L-Tyrosine works to recharge dopamine and the remaining two catecholamine neurotransmitters to keep you mentally sharp in stressful situations.

L-Tyrosine’s effects are the most noticeable when taken before an acute stressor – such as exercise, loud noise exposure, public speech, multitasking activity, or during sleep deprivation.

Korean Panax Ginseng Standardized to 5% Ginsenosides

Dosage: 100 mg

Panax Ginseng, or 'True' Ginseng as it is often known, is native to Korea or North Eastern China and the most potent of the Ginseng family.

After centuries of use in traditional medicine, the past 20 years has seen extensive research into this natural herb for a wide variety of medicinal reasons. And it has delivered impressive results in many key areas.

Physical benefits relevant to Centrapeak include testosterone levels and erectile dysfunction.

Its effectiveness at increasing testosterone stems from its ability to reduce blood glucose. Reduced blood sugar reduces insulin levels in the blood, and this has a positive effect on testosterone levels.

The positive effects on erectile dysfunction in relation to penile rigidity are put down to the positive effect Panax Ginseng has on nitric oxide levels in the blood. This works in exactly the same way as well known erectile dysfunction pharmaceuticals: improved circulation and increased nitric oxide lead to stronger erections.

It's a perfect ingredient for a 'Body and Mind' supplement like Centrapeak, as it has consistently demonstrated that it improves cognitive function, and subjective wellbeing.

  • Reduces the female hormone estrogen
  • Brings the testosterone-to-estrogen ratio in a more youthful range
  • Reduces inflammation in the body and helps with muscle recovery

COGNITIVE BENEFITS

  • Improves mood and well-being

Luteolin

Dosage: 50mg

Luteolin is an antioxidant that belongs to the group of flavonoids, and is a potent male health enhancer.

Centrapeak uses Luteolin because of its powerful effects on balancing estrogen levels, as well as promoting brain cell growth in the hippocampus. Luteolin's benefits include improved vitality, mood, and well-being.

Studies show that luteolin works by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for turning testosterone into estrogen. Using luteolin to inhibit aromatase is an effective way of stopping excess estrogen production in its tracks. In essence, luteolin keeps the key androgen hormone in a more youthful range by regulating the testosterone-to-estrogen ratio.

On the cognitive side of things, luteolin is shown to raise GABA production for a healthy mood and well-being. As an antioxidant, luteolin also protects your brain cells from damage and inflammation, and can boost nerve growth.

Magnesium as Magnesium Citrate

Dosage: 50 mg

The different forms of magnesium found in supplements are absorbed by the body differently. We have chosen magnesium citrate is a much more bioavailable form, with 16% absorption rate as opposed to 4% in magnesium oxide. In terms of absorption and effectiveness, this means that 50mg of magnesium citrate is equivalent to 200mg of magnesium oxide.

Studies have shown that magnesium positively affects testosterone in health athletic males as well as older males. It increases levels of total testosterone, but also increases levels of free testosterone as it has an inhibiting effect on the binding of SHBG to testosterone molecules.

It has also been shown in studies to aid muscle oxygenation, helping with aerobic exercise, and reduce blood glucose and pressure.

Modern farming methods and soil degradation coupled with poor diet mean that in magnesium deficiency is common in the US amongst all genders and ethnic groups. Studies have shown that a significant proportion of the US population is deficient in Magnesium. The latest large scale studies into it put that number at 68%.

One of the more subtle benefits of having this dose and this form of magnesium in Centrapeak is that it assists in the activation of the vitamin D3.

bioperine

BioPerine® Standardized to minimum 95% piperine

Dosage: 10 mg

BioPerine® is a patented, high-quality standardization of black pepper extract from the Sabinsa Corporation.

It has been included in Centrapeak not for its ability to boost testosterone or its cognitive enhancement - but because it helps facilitate the other ingredients, and get them doing their jobs more effectively.

Black pepper increases the bioavailability of ingredients in a supplement. In other words, it allows the body to absorb them more effectively in the digestive system.

Why BioPerine® and not plain vanilla black pepper extract?

Piperine, the active ingredient in black pepper extract, takes time for its bioavailability enhancing properties to be released. This time delay is crucial, it is important for the increased absorption to happen immediately to get the most from your supplement. The highly purified version of piperine in BioPerine® will do exactly that - get to work quicker, and be a more effective bioavailability enhancer.
